Igbo land (Standard: Igbo: Àlà Ị̀gbò) is the cultural home of the Igbo people. It is located in southern Nigeria. The river Niger divides the area into two parts; the eastern part (which is larger) and the western part.
The Igbo people live across all the southeastern states of Nigeria. They also make up large populations in Delta State and Rivers State. Smaller numbers of Igbo people live in neighboring states, including Edo State, Akwa Ibom State, Cross River State, Bayelsa State, Benue State, and Kogi State.
