Immunodeficiency, also known as immunocompromisation, is a state in which the immune system's role to fight infectious diseases and cancer is not strong or not there at all. Immunocompromisation may be caused by other illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, genetic diseases or problems within the system such as SCID.
