John Murtha
John Patrick Murtha Jr. (/ˈmɜːrθə/; June 17, 1932 – February 8, 2010) was an American politician. He was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia. Murtha, a Democrat, represented Pennsylvania's 12th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1974 until his death in 2010.
Murtha died on February 8, 2010 in Arlington, Virginia from complications of intestine surgery at the age of 77.
