Kimberly Ann Guilfoyle (/ˈɡɪlfɔɪl/; born March 9, 1969) is an American attorney and television news personality who was the 27th and current United States Ambassador to Greece from 2025 until 2026 during the second presidency of Donald Trump. She co-hosted The Five on Fox News. She was the First Lady of San Francisco from 2004 to 2006 while she was in a domestic partnership with then-Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Career

Guilfoyle was a prosecuting attorney in San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. She was an Assistant District Attorney in San Francisco from 2000 to 2004. She was the First Lady of San Francisco from 2004 to 2006 when her then-husband Gavin Newsom was mayor.

Guilfoyle worked at Fox News from 2006 to 2018. She later joined America First Policies, a pro-Trump super PAC.

U.S. Ambassador

In December 2024, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Guilfoyle to be the United States Ambassador to Greece. On September 18, 2025, the Senate confirmed her nomination with a 51-47 vote.

On September 29, 2025 she was sworn in and became the first female Ambassador of the United States to the Hellenic Republic. She presented her credentials to Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas on November 4, 2025 during her first official trip to the country.

On October 7, 2026, The Wall Street Journal reported that while getting ready for her Senate confirmation hearings in 2025, Guilfoyle asked businessman and Trump-allied donor Eric Deters to help pay her $100,000 American Express debt. Deters has run for political office several times, including a primary challenge against the Republican incumbent in Kentucky's 4th congressional district in 2024. Deters himself said this request was a quid pro quo", and called Guilfoyle as a "grifter". He said she was "desperate for me to send that $100,000" and that Guilfoyle promised to be his "ride or die in the Trump world" if the money were sent.

Democrats from the House Oversight Committee requested that Guilfoyle provide them with financial records related to the Deters allegations. Days later, it was reported that President Trump was thinking about firing Guilfoyle over this. On October 13, 2026, the White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia announced that President Trump asked Guilfoyle to resign. On the same day, Guilfoyle resigned as ambassador.

Personal life

She married California politician Gavin Newsom and was First Lady of San Francisco during Newsom's first two years as mayor of that city.

In May 2018, it was confirmed she was dating Donald Trump Jr., son of President Donald Trump. They became engaged in December 2020. However, they ended their relationship and engagement in 2024.
