The Mercedes-Benz O 309 was given the name the Düsseldorfer Transporter along with other buses (due to it being built in Düsseldorf), It was built by Mercedes-Benz from 1967 (after it replaced the O319 Mini bus) to 1986 (the vario is it’s indirect successor) .
