Mod, from the word modernist, is a subculture that began in late 1950s London and spread throughout the United Kingdom. Its members wore clothes that were different from normal. It later also changed fashion in other countries. It continues today, but not as much as in the 20th century. Focused on music and fashion, the subculture has comes from a small group of people in London in the late 1950s who were called modernists because they listened to modern jazz.
