TV5 News and Current Affairs (formerly ABC News and Public Affairs, TV5 News and Public Affairs and later TV5 News and Information), also known on-air as News5, is the news and public affairs division of the Philippine media company TV5 Network Inc.

News5 generates news, infotainment, and entertainment output for TV5's media assets including it's namesake network, AksyonTV, RPTV, and other television stations, radio through the Radyo5 network, cable television through One News and One PH, internationally through Kapatid International, AksyonTV International, and news websites news5.com.ph and InterAksyon (part of the PhilStar Group). Luchi Cruz-Valdes served as News5 and Public Affairs department chief since 2009 until her retirement on September 30, 2024.
News5 set a number of firsts in news reporting in the country. These include the use of Live-Pack and a virtual news set, the first news FM station (Radyo5 (Singko) 92.3 News FM) and, prior to December 2013, the first and only 24-hour Filipino language free TV news channel (AksyonTV) along with the first English-language business news channel (Bloomberg TV Philippines) since October 5, 2015 prior to it's launching in full broadcast, which is owned by Bloomberg L.P. in partnership with Bloomberg Television and Cignal. It is also the first news organization to shoot and produce it's newscasts in High Definition in April 2015 and the first digital (online)-only news video channel thru News5 Digital (formerly News5 Everywhere), which was launched on June 28, 2017.
Effective September 30, 2024, Cruz-Valdes stepped down in retirement as TV5 Officer In Charge of News and Public Affairs with the appointment of Patrick Paez as the news head, splitting of News5. The rebranding is intended to emphasise the combined resources of it's television, digital, radio, cable, and regional platforms as a singular, multi-platform operation. Meanwhile, Jove Francisco has assumed the appointment as News Content Head of Cignal TV. News5 Features retained it's name with Jay Orense Head of Public Affairs Unit currently heading the department.
