Ostvorpommern is a former district in the eastern part of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The Hanseatic city of Greifswald is surrounded by the district, but does not belong to it.
The district was created on June 12 1994 by joining the old districts of Anklam, Greifswald and Wolgast.
