The frightening foam froglet or Jaboticatubas dwarf frog (Physalaemus deimaticus) is a frog. It lives in Brazil.
When something frightens this frog, it puts its head down and its rear end up. The spots near its rear end look like eyes. This can make a animal that wants to eat the frog think it is seeing a much bigger animal.
The frog lives near water or wet ground in grassy places and rocky places in Brazil's Cerrado place. It hides under rocks during the day. Scientists have seen this frog about 800 m (2,600 ft) above sea level.
Scientists have seen the frog in some protected places: Parque Nacional da Serra do Cipó and Parque Estadual Pico do Itambé.
The male frog sits somewhere wet and calls to the female frogs. Scientists believe this frog lays eggs in nests made out of bubbles in streams and that the tadpoles swim in the water.
Scientists from the IUCN say this frog is not in big danger of dying out.
