Pocket Card Jockey is a card video game. It was published by Game Freak with Nintendo doing the publishing for the 3DS version. The game was also developed by Game Freak.
It was released on July 31, 2013 in Japan and May 5, 2016 in the rest of the world. The game would later be released for iOS and Android on November 26, 2014.
In the game, the player controls a jockey. Depending on if the player chooses their character to be a male or a female there are two different goals they want to complete. The male wants to inherit the orange farm of his father and the female wants to get married and start a family. The player's jockey is killed during a race and is told by an angel to play the horse race like a game of solitaire. To win a race, the player has to win rounds of golf (card game).
A remake titled Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! was released on January 20, 2023 through Apple Arcade and on February 21, 2024 for Nintendo Switch.
The game recieved good reviews by game critics. Critics said that it was fun and that they liked the art style, music, and writing. However, some critics said that they didn't like the hard difficulty, the horse breeding mechanic was limited, and said that the tutorial for the game was too long and confusing.
