Private island

Little Saint James, an infamous private island owned by Jeffrey Epstein

A private island is an island that is owned entirely by a private citizen or a corporation. This gives the owner large amounts of power over the island, but the local or national government still has authority over it. Sizes of different private islands are very different from each other.
