Rathore

Rathore or Rathod is a Rajput clan, that claims descent from the Suryavanshi Kshatriya dynasty (Solar dynasty) of the Hindu mythology. They historically ruled over parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. According to British historian V. A. Smith, the Rathores are offshoot of the Gahadawal dynasty while others link their descent from the ancient Rashtrakutas.
