Rubidium bromide is an ionic compound made of rubidium and bromide ions. The chemical formula is RbBr. It has a molar mass of around 165.372 g/mol. It is made when rubidium (metal or basic compound) reacts with bromine or hydrobromic acid.

Formation of rubidium bromide

It can be made when rubidium metal reacts with liquid bromine to make rubidium bromide.

The balanced chemical equation is:
2Rb + Br2 → 2RbBr

It can also be made when rubidium hydroxide reacts with hydrobromic acid to make rubidium bromide and water.

The balanced chemical equation is:
RbOH + HBr → RbBr + H2O
