The Sigmaringen enclave, also called the French Governmental Commission for the Defense of National Interests, was a Government-in-exile of the remnants of the Vichy government that relocated to Sigmaringen Castle Germany after most of France was liberated by the allies in September 1944. The government remained there until the allies entered Sigmaringen in April 1945.
