Tijs Michiel Verwest, also called Tiësto, is a Dutch musician. He was born on January 17, 1969 in the Netherlands.

Tiësto is a very famous DJ. He has often been called "the Godfather of electronic dance music". Tiësto started making music in 1994. In 1997, he and his friend Arny Brink created his own brand for releasing music, which they named Black Hole Recordings. In 2004, Tiësto became the first DJ to play music at the Olympic Games, which were held in Athens, Greece. As a famous DJ, Tiësto makes a lot of money whenever he plays music. One magazine, Forbes, guessed that he makes $250,000 every night he plays.
