Vegemite

Vegemite on toast

Vegemite is a food commonly made in Australia. It is made from leftover yeast extract used for making beer. Vegemite is usually used as a spread for sandwiches, toast, crumpets and cracker biscuits, often with butter. Vegemite is considered an essential food for all Australian children, and is enjoyed as a spread, not alone on a spoon, despite what some sources may suggest.
