Wayne Robert LaPierre, Jr. (born November 8, 1949 in Schenectady, New York) is an American gun rights activist and businessman. He is best known for his position as the executive vice president of the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) between 1991 and 2024.
On August 6, 2020 a lawsuit in New York said that LaPierre had defrauded the National Rifle Association of millions of dollars.
In January 2024 he resigned as CEO of the NRA. In February 2024 the court decided he had spent $5.4million of the Association's money on expensive clothes, private jet flights and other personal items for himself. He was ordered to pay back $4.3million.
