WW International, Inc., formerly Weight Watchers International, Inc., is a global company in the United States. It offers weight loss and maintenance, fitness, and mindset services. It has a Weight Watchers diet. It was started in 1963 by Jean Nidetch in Queens, New York City, It works online by its mobile app and website, coaching online or by phone, or in-person meetings. People pay a subscription for the service.
In 2018, the company rebranded to "WW". This was to show "its development from focusing on weight loss to overall health and wellness." The company was then worth about $145 million. The rise of weight loss drugs like Semaglutide damaged the business. In 2023 it bought Sequence, a telehealth company. That meant it could prescribe drugs. Sequence was rebranded as WeightWatchers Clinic.
