Categories are used to help organise the articles in Wikipedia. There are several things to think about before making a new category:
- First, please make sure that there is not a similar category which already exists. Special:CategoryTree may help you to find existing categories.
- You also need to think about whether your category is needed. New categories should usually have at least three articles ready to go in them.
- If you are unsure what the category should be called, our naming guidelines may give you a better idea.
