William Marsden FRS FSA (16 November 1754 – 6 October 1836) was an Irish expert in oriental studies, languages and coins. He worked as the Second Secretary and later the First Secretary to the Admiralty during the time when Britain was at war with France.
He translated the book Travels of Marco Polo, and his version was used as a main one until the 20th century, even though others like Manuel Komroff later made changes to it.
