Cryptococcus neoformans är en svampart som först beskrevs av San Felice, och fick sitt nu gällande namn av Paul Vuillemin 1901. Cryptococcus neoformans ingår i släktet Cryptococcus och familjen Tremellaceae.

Patologi

Svampen orsakar sjukdomen kryptokockos.
