Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence (IN, DOE-IN alternativt OICI) är en avdelning inom USA:s energidepartement (DOE) och sköter dess underrättelseverksamhet och kontraspionage.

Historik

Avdelningen härrör från 1999 när USA:s kongress drev igenom en lag som beslutade om att USA:s energidepartement och National Nuclear Security Administration skulle ha enskilda underrättelsetjänster. De efterkommande åren visades det att var ineffektivt med två skilda. Energidepartementet försökte gång på gång påvisa detta för kongressen. År 2006 gav kongressen med sig och beslutade om en gemensam underrättelsetjänst, dock bara på temporärt basis. Den blev permanent fyra år senare.
