Yaşamı

Hesseman, 27 Şubat 1940'ta Lebanon, Oregon'da doğdu. Oregon Üniversitesi'ni bitirdi. 1968'de başladığı oyunculuk kariyerini 2018 yılına kadar sürdürdü. En çok; DJ. Johnny Fever rolünde olduğu; WKRP in Cincinnati ve öğretmen Charlie Moore rolünde olduğu; Head of the Class adlı TV dizileriyle tanındı.

Özel yaşamı ve ölümü

Hesseman, 29 Ocak 2022'de Los Angeles, Kaliforniya'da kolon kanseri nedeniyle 81 yaşında ölmüştür. Geride 33 yıllık hayat arkadaşı Caroline Ducrocq kaldı.
