Bubo bubo veya Puhu, Bubo cinsine bağlı yırtıcı bir baykuş türüdür.

Özellikler

Mikkola, türün irilerinde de üst gövde ağırlığı oranının değişmediğini, 4,6 kg (10 lb) ağırlığında, 3 cm (1,2 in) uzunluğunda olduğunu belirtir. Türün tipik kanat aralığı 131-188 cm (4 ft 4 in-6 ft 2 in) genişliğinde, irilerinin ise 2 m (6 ft 7 in) olabilme ihtimali vardır. Türün vücut uzunluğu toplamda 56 ila 75 cm (22 ila 30 in) aralıklarında değişkenlik gösterir. Dişilerin ağırlığı 1,75-4,6 kg (3,9-10,1 lb) arasında erkeklerin ise 1,2-3,2 kg (2,6-7,1 lb) aralığında değişir.

İber Yarımadası, İspanya, Portekiz, Fransa'nın güneyi, Allier, Lüksemburg, Belçika'nın güneyi ve batısı, Hollanda, nadiren de olsa Birleşik Krallık, Almanya, Çek Cumhuriyeti, Slovakya, Macaristan, Polonya, İsviçre, Avusturya, İtalya, Slovenya, Yunanistan, Bulgaristan, Romanya, Estonya, Finlandiya, İskandinavya, Norveç, İsveç, Danimarka, Rusya, Kazakistan, Afganistan, Gürcistan, Azerbaycan, Türkiye, İsrail, Irak, Ürdün, İran, Hindistan, Pakistan, Moğolistan, Çin, Kore ve Japonya'da dağılım gösterir.

Davranış

Geceleri aktiftir. Güneşin batımından birkaç saat sonra ve doğuşundan birkaç saat öncesinde hareketlenir.
