Adipolin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the C1QTNF12 gene. It is predicted to be a hormone which suppress glucose production by liver cells. It may also be an adipokine (meaning a hormone produced by fat cells), and may also function to increase the amount of glucose taken in by fat cells.
