Al-Bayati (Arabic: البياتي, romanized: al-Bayātī) is a surname. It is connected to the Iraqi al-Bayat tribe.
The tribal etymology is a regional name affiliated with the Bayat plains in central-north Iraq.
The ancestry and ethnicity of those carrying the al-Bayati name is split between mainly ethnic Arab clans, along with some Turkmen clans. Arab sources claim it as an Arab tribe of the Tayy tribal confederacy. Turkmen sources however claim the tribe's ancestry is linked to the Oghuz Turkic Bayat tribe with origins in Khorasan.
