Brachypodella is a genus of gastropods belonging to the subfamily Brachypodellinae of the family Urocoptidae.
(Described as Brachypus) The animal is heliciform, with a snail‑like body. It bears four tentacles, the larger pair carrying the eyes. The mouth lies beneath, and the foot is very short, so that the animal has great difficulty in dragging the elongate shell.
The shell is fusiform and slender, composed of many whorls, all of them narrow. The body whorl is constricted and slightly keeled. The aperture is small, simple, and almost round, without teeth. The lip is thickened and reflexed, its margins united all around. There is no operculum.
The species of this genus are found in Northern and Central America.
