Iphianassa

In Greek mythology, Iphianassa (/ˌɪfiəˈnæsə/; Ancient Greek: Ίφιάνασσα, romanized: Īphianassa or Iphiánassa, lit. 'strong queen' or 'rule strongly') is a name that refers to several characters.

Notes

  1. ↑ The name is the combination of Iphi- (ἶφι), derived from an archaic Greek root meaning "strongly", "mightily", or "force" and -anassa (ἄνασσα), a classical Greek word meaning "queen" or "ruler".
