Mimomenyllus aruensis is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae. It is also known as a flat-faced longhorn beetle. The species was first described by Stephan von Breuning in 1973. It is the type species for the genus Mimomenyllus, which Breuning also described. This beetle lives only in the Aru Islands of Indonesia, which are southwest of New Guinea.
The German entomologist Stephan von Breuning described Mimomenyllus aruensis in 1973. The description appeared in Mitteilungen aus dem Zoologischen Museum in Berlin. The type locality for this species is Aru, Wokan, which is in the Aru Islands.
Breuning placed the species in the tribe Pteropliini, which is part of the subfamily Lamiinae. The genus Mimomenyllus currently contains two species, including Mimomenyllus aruensis and Mimomenyllus quadricostulatus. Breuning described Mimomenyllus quadricostulatus in 1980, based on specimens from New Guinea.
The known body length for this beetle is about 14 millimeters. The species has a relatively plain appearance with light brown or beige coloration. Not much else is known about its physical features or biology, because few specimens have been studied by scientists.
The species is only known from the Aru Islands, which are part of Indonesia. The islands lie southwest of New Guinea in eastern Indonesia. The type specimen for the species came from Wokan, which is one of the Aru Islands.
