Renzo Filinich Orozco is a Peruvian-Chilean media artist and researcher, who seeks to challenge the Western-centric and mechanistic approaches to technology. Filinich's research interests include Andean epistemologies and Post-humanist approaches to technology. Filinich's Ph.D. is from the University of Valparaíso in Interdisciplinary Studies. Currently he is completing Postdoctoral research about the epistemologies created between the practices of art and science at Wits University.
His recent works include Quantum Echoes of Humanity, an AI-driven artistic exploration of anthropological archives that reimagines the Anthropocene from a Global South perspective, and Echoes of the Machine – A Cybernetic Song, an ongoing project examining cybernetic feedback, machine learning and environmental data through sound-based artistic research. Across his practice, Filinich engages critically with simulation, machinic agency and cosmotechnics, exploring how emerging technologies shape cultural imaginaries and alternative futures.
