Richard Nilsson is a Swedish entrepreneur and humanitarian organizer. He is the president of Adventure of Humanity, an international humanitarian organization initiated and inspired by Michael Jackson, and the owner of Villa Oxygène, an iconic villa and event venue on the French Riviera.

Nilsson's work spans international humanitarian initiatives, peacebuilding, environmental sustainability, and cultural and charitable events. Through Adventure of Humanity, he has brought together prominent figures and supporters from the worlds of politics, spirituality, entertainment, and humanitarian affairs.

Villa Oxygène

Nilsson owns Villa Oxygène, a private estate in Super-Cannes, France, designed by French architect Jacques Couëlle. He developed the property into a luxury hospitality and lifestyle concept hosting international events, brand collaborations, and charitable gatherings, particularly during the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2011, Nilsson collaborated with Playboy Enterprises to host Playboy Mansion Cannes at Villa Oxygène, featuring events associated with Lamborghini and the Jackson Family. The estate has also hosted international brand campaigns, including Unilever's Magnum campaign featuring Eva Longoria.

Over the years, Villa Oxygène has welcomed numerous prominent figures from entertainment, sports, politics, and business, including Magic Johnson, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Charles Aznavour, and members of the Jackson family, including Joe Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, and La Toya Jackson, as well as Mandla Mandela of the Mandela family.

Adventure of Humanity

Nilsson is the president of Adventure of Humanity, an international humanitarian organization rooted in Michael Jackson's 1999 initiative Michael Jackson & Friends – The Adventure of Humanity, established in association with Nelson Mandela. The initiative began with two benefit concerts in Seoul and Munich, intended to support the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, the Red Cross, and UNESCO.

Following the deaths of Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela, Nilsson brought representatives of the Jackson and Mandela families together in Cannes in 2014, renewing their association through the humanitarian initiative. With the support of Katherine and Joe Jackson and Mandla Mandela, he continued the project and subsequently expanded its circle of supporters to include the 14th Dalai Lama and Tara Gandhi Bhattacharjee, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi.

These four humanitarian legacies — the Jackson family, the Royal House of Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and the Gandhi family — form what Adventure of Humanity calls its Legacy Families, united by the principles of love, peace, unity, equality, friendship, and happiness for all life.

Under Nilsson's leadership, Adventure of Humanity has developed international activities spanning peacebuilding, education, children's welfare, human rights, and environmental sustainability. Through its Nation to Nation initiative, Nilsson has engaged with political, spiritual, and community leaders across multiple continents to advance intercultural understanding, international cooperation, and dialogue. His international engagements have involved prominent figures including Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Wan Muhamad Noor Matha, former President of Thailand's National Assembly, His Highness Otani of Kyoto, Japan, environmental scientist Arthur Lyon Dahl, and Indigenous leader Oren Lyons.

As part of his international peace initiatives, Nilsson also signed Mahatma Gandhi's declaration of peace at the Presidential Palace in New Delhi, India.

His environmental and educational work has addressed climate change, sustainability, access to education, and the relationship between environmental protection and human rights. These efforts have included international conferences, such as the International Conference of Chief Justices of the World in Lucknow, India, educational initiatives, and cooperation with humanitarian organizations and community representatives.

Adventure of Humanity's humanitarian efforts have also included funding homes for elderly people, supporting housing, clothing, and education for street children in Nepal and India as part of efforts to protect vulnerable children from human trafficking, and participating in educational programmes aimed at improving opportunities for disadvantaged communities.

As president of Adventure of Humanity, Nilsson has hosted and produced international charitable events and contributed financial support to humanitarian causes. His activities have included support for the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, Ronald McDonald House, Zico's Jogo das Estrelas, and mental health initiatives associated with King Charles III's charitable work, alongside the production of World Peace Night and Friends of MJ. These initiatives have brought together international artists, humanitarian leaders, and charitable organizations in support of humanitarian causes and international cooperation.
