Rotten Records is an American record label, mainly publishing sludge metal and doom metal artists.

Acid Bath, who are by far the most popular signed band under Rotten Records' label, Bassist Sammy Duet said about being signed to Rotten

...This is a long story... So we put out the demo (Hymns Of The Needle Freak), and we were shopping out around the labels and Roadrunner Records, this big record label... were very interested... so he comes down to our show, and this guy from Roadrunner, he falls asleep during our show, so that wasn't a good thing at all... So he went "If you guys are going to put me to sleep during your set, I'm not interested"... So the big label fell through and we wanted to get signed and the only other label who responded other than that record was Rotten Records... So we came to the guy from Rotten Records, he came to our shows, he did not fall asleep... So we did not really look to far into the contract, that we signed, which was not smart on our part, you know your learn things after doing this stuff for a while... Thus we were signed to Rotten Records

— Sammy Duet, 2021 Stream

For years, Rotten Records kept several artists music off of major streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify because of low financial compensation, and removed several fan videos from YouTube causing fans to upload their albums to less mainstream streaming sites such as Pornhub. In March of 2020 they ultimately released all of their music to streaming.
