Shipley Plateau

Vantage point of Shipley Plateau from the Hargraves Lookout. In the foreground, looking down upon the plateau, are two sets of tall, full green trees bordering the left and right sides of the image, each rising to the midway point of this landscape image. Between the bordering trees is open space revealing the view of the plateau down below. The plateau extends to the horizon line. Stretching across the midway point of the image is a thick, white tendril of valley fog. The rest of the image above the horizon is a clear sky, with dark to light blues from top to bottom.

Shipley Plateau is located south of Blackheath, New South Wales in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Faced with sandstone escarpments, the plateau is accessible by road and some of the land area is planted with fruit orchards. The Hargraves Lookout on its south easterly limit provides an excellent view of the Megalong Valley.

Logan Brae Apple Orchard is the only apple orchard left operating on the plateau.
