Timothy P. Edson is an American businessman and Republican political strategist. He was political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) during the 2024 election cycle and later co-founded the public affairs firm Strategy to Results and the business association American Growth Partnership. Before the NRSC, he was a congressional aide and ran or advised Republican campaigns in Virginia, Florida, New York, and Indiana.

Congressional staff and campaigns

Edson attended Virginia Tech and began his career as a legislative and press aide in the Virginia General Assembly. In 2005 he moved to the U.S. House of Representatives, working in a leadership office while Tom DeLay was majority leader.

He managed Keith Fimian's 2010 campaign against Representative Gerry Connolly in Virginia's 11th congressional district. In 2011 Edson became communications director for Representative Todd Rokita of Indiana's 4th congressional district. He then managed Representative Allen West's 2012 reelection campaign in Florida's 18th congressional district and returned to Rokita's office as deputy chief of staff in 2013, staying into 2014.

After Dave Brat's 2014 primary upset of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in Virginia's 7th congressional district, Edson joined Brat's general election campaign as general consultant. He also advised Susan Stimpson's 2015 primary challenge to William J. Howell, the Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates.

In 2017 Edson was spokesman for Rokita's bid for the Republican nomination in the 2018 Indiana Senate race. The same year he was consultant and spokesman for Representative Claudia Tenney of New York's 22nd congressional district. He was campaign spokesman for Victoria Spartz in her 2020 race in Indiana's 5th congressional district and a consultant to Jennifer-Ruth Green's 2022 campaign in Indiana's 1st congressional district. The American Association of Political Consultants put him on its "40 Under 40" list in 2020.

2024 Senate cycle and after

Edson was the NRSC's political director for the 2024 cycle, when Senator Steve Daines of Montana chaired the committee. In April 2024, Fox News obtained and reported on an NRSC memo he wrote about how the Mayorkas impeachment could affect vulnerable Senate Democrats. Republicans gained four Senate seats that November and won a 53–47 majority.

In early 2025 Edson co-founded Strategy to Results, a public affairs firm, with Brock Lowrance and former NRSC executive director Jason Thielman. He is also a co-founder of the American Growth Partnership, a business association in Washington, D.C.
