US Legal Forms is an American legal-technology organisation that publishes an online library of state-specific legal templates for use across the United States. The company sells access to document templates on a subscription basis to consumers, small businesses, and attorneys, and does not provide legal advice or act as a law firm. Since 2019, US Legal Forms has operated as a subsidiary of airSlate Inc., under the legal entity airSlate Legal Forms, Inc.

Overview

US Legal Forms services include more than 85,000 legal templates covering areas such as estate planning, family law, real estate, business incorporation, and employment. The service also offers a guided document creator, a Word-like online editor, online notarization, and iOS and Android applications. It is integrated with other airSlate products, including pdfFiller for document editing and signNow for electronic signatures.

History

US Legal Forms was founded in Mississippi by Frank D. Edens, an attorney admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1985. In 1997, he founded US Legal Forms, along with his partner and Mississippi attorney, Lem Adams III, which was formally incorporated in 1999. At the same time, the company was accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

US Legal Forms became self-sufficient and launched an affiliate programme in 2000. USLegal, Inc. was established in 2005 as a parent corporation. In 2011, the documentation library contained around 36,000 forms.

AirSlate Inc., an American SaaS company in Boston, acquired the business in 2019. On 18 April 2019, the Mississippi entity, airSlate Legal Forms, Inc., was formed as a branch of a Delaware parent. Co-founder Frank D. Edens led the company as an independent business until its acquisition by airSlate in 2019. Since the acquisition, US Legal Forms has been managed within airSlate's organizational structure.
