Same old same old, AI edit summaries, markdown, etc. out the wazoo; the pattern of editing has not changed since I pointed this out on their talk page and they said they used "a tool." (Why does no one ever specify what "tool" they are using? Why do people say stuff like "clearly I used a tool" as if they are stunned to discover their own actions?) Thanks for raising this. Yes I have been using AI to help with some edits. I honestly didn't see any harm in using it for things like finding grammar mistakes, checking sources and helping with wording, and I wasn't trying to hide that. I just didn't realise Wikipedia had become this strict about how AI could be used.
I understand the issue now though and I'll change how I'm using it. I'll keep it to helping with research and checking things and write the actual article changes myself. Im happy to go back and look at any of my past work, or if people think i should stop contributing I'll stop contributing. As an Engineer for many decades I do appreciate good engineering and scientifically accurate data on this platform and do want it to stay that way. Thanks for responding. There's no need to stop contributing completely, just be aware that Wikipedia's guidelines don't allow the use of AI for wikitext; other edits are perfectly welcome. Gnomingstuff (talk) 23:42, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
We could really use an idea around what date you started using LLM. This allows better focused cleanup efforts and would be very much appreciated. M kuhner (talk) 23:51, 20 September 2026 (UTC)
This appears to have continued NicheSports (talk) 14:52, 12 October 2026 (UTC)

@Admins willing to patrol AINB: Requesting mainspace block as editor has returned to using LLMs, as shown by the heavy WP:AIATTR in the diff given by NicheSports, despite having agreed not to. M kuhner (talk) 15:41, 12 October 2026 (UTC)

On the one hand, the draft isn't in mainspace, on the other hand, they've promised to stop using AI since April and that user draft is pretty clearly intended for mainspace. I'll ping @ProjectAutomate one last time for deeper clarification re. their current and past use of AI. The last chance saloon doesn't serve free refills.
