Some articles compare its pedagogical value to much larger IDEs like eclipse. Google scholar even asked to correct Dr Java to drjava, so it seems its a fairly common term. Sourcing deserves a closer look, but as WP:NSOFT is an essay, not a guideline, I will invoke WP:PRESERVE here and suggest this be kept in the absence of accepted deletion rationale + the availability of academic sources for improvement.
