This table was generated by User:Certes using this database script. Most of the links come from templates, however, as they have not been excluded. (This list was a test for a WikiProject, and includes only targets beginning with "A" or preceding characters such as digits. The code for targets beginning with other letters of the alphabet, can be found here. )
Likely from templates like Template:Years in Ireland and Template:Years in France, there are many medieval years in Ireland and France which seem not to have pages.
These seem mostly to be from Template:United States elections, which uses a script to include every year since the inception of that country, if there exists a page for it; however, most likely, nearly all of these elections did not actually exist.
This list shows the most commonly redlinked titles. Links arising from the template namespace are ignored, as are titles containing " of ", " in " and " at the ". Some links appear because a template does an existence test to determine whether to Wikilink a parameter.
Here is an up-to-date list of the top 250 red links from/to the main namespace. However, unlike the December 2010 lists, they are uncategorized and include links that originate from templates. Feel free to further categorize and annotate. The top 1000 and links to the full dataset can be found at Wikipedia:Most wanted articles/July 2011. -- Stu (aeiou)I`m Researching Wikipedia 18:49, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Fresh lists of missing pages with the greatest number of incoming links, generated on December 4th 2010. Where a red link arises on a template, it is only counted once, no matter how many pages that template is transcluded into. That said, link counts are at best an approximation. The list has been roughly subdivided by an automated process - it is likely that they will need further sorting by hand. - TB (talk) 11:11, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
