SplitApple Watch into Apple Watch and Apple Watch Ultra. With the announcement of the Apple Watch Ultra 2, it is clear that Apple sees the device as a seperate product line similar to the iPhone Pro series. The Ultra line of watches have a specific target market (hiking, trailing, & diving) and have enough distinct hardware and software features that set them apart from standard Apple Watch models even further than typical generational upgrades. SplitLingotto into Lingotto (district) referring to the geographical area within Turin, and Lingotto (building), referring to the multipurpose building in Via Nizza, as the two are completely separate topics. This article about the possibly fictional twin rulers contains a handful of information about the church named in their honor. I propose that the section about the church should be split into two separate ones: one about the rulers (in this case, the original article without the section "Church of Abreha wa-Atsbeha") and a separate one focusing more on the church (the section "Church of Abreha wa-Atsbeha"). However, I already created a full draft for the proposed split, see: Draft: Yellow Swans Discography. See discussion at Talk:Yellow Swans#Discography. I wanna be clear that the reason I think the split is necessary is that this band has over sixty different releases, most of them released under an alias, which makes it incredibly hard to organize it all in a small section, or at least organize it in a readeable way. scapegoat (talk) 21:41, 24 January 2023 (UTC)

SplitReinforced autoclaved aerated concrete into Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (material) and 2023 United Kingdom reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete scandal. The article in question has grown from a stub about the material in question into being dominated by the recent political scandal regarding its historical use and lack of maintenance within the UK. As a result it feels like it's moving outside its original purpose of documenting the material and its basic factual properties and use to instead also containing current events of politically-charged information such as what a minister said or promised to do or didn't do etc. Therefore I believe it would be better that the content relating to the political scandal aspects be moved to a separate article. SplitKITT into KITT (Knight Rider) and KARR (Knight Rider) (this is a disambiguation page back to the section in KITT). The KITT article is about a TV show character, but it currently includes a section about a totally separate character from the TV show, KARR. User RJX74 brought up this issue on the Talk page in 2011, but it seems there was no discussion about it at that time. If agreed, I am unable to do the split (never created an article before and don't want to mess it up!). Pompeivsmangvs (talk) 11:56, 16 September 2025 (UTC)
Benefits of having them split: To allow the articles to focus on the history and development of each rifle. This would make it easier when linking pages as well. It also gives a more unify format across the different Wikipedia languages. Currently, the AS Val and VSS Vintorez both have individual pages on other languages.

SplitCrunchyroll into Crunchyroll and Crunchyroll, Inc.. I think the article can be split into the Crunchyroll article by covering some parts of history in the lead section, The Anime Awards and Crunchyroll Expo to form another article called Crunchyroll, Inc. which highlights, apart from the launch of the streaming platform, how the media company was founded, its origins from May 2006 to mid-March 2022, being merged with Funimation to Crunchyroll, LLC as both companies closed between 2022 and 2023 until 2024. 190.166.242.220 (talk) 23:00, 28 January 2025 (UTC)
Oppose as unnecessary The information and history regarding the company behind Crunchyroll's OTT streaming service platform (the base Crunchyroll article) already covers the origins, history, and progression of the original Crunchyroll media company, so I don't see the need to split that content off from the current article as it would seem to be an inconvenience for our readers who might want to learn how the original Crunchyroll got started only for them to need to be directed to a separate article page. The original Crunchyroll company has since been merged with and folded into the Funimation company, which is detailed sufficiently at Crunchyroll, LLC due to the myriad business arrangements that resulted in the formation of that company (which readers can still learn about at the base Crunchyroll article itself). Thus, I don't see any content as needing to be split here. Red Shogun412 (talk • contribs) 04:33, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
SplitMarketing ethics into Marketing Ethics and Ethics in Advertising and Promotion. The section on advertising ethics covers distinct issues, such as manipulation, stereotyping, and social responsibility, which differ from the broader scope of marketing ethics. The current content lacks citations and quality, it seems a textbook rather than a wiki entry. A standalone article would be easier to edit. If agreed, I ‘‘cannot’’ do the split myself as this is my first time, but I can contribute by editing the “Ethics in Advertising and Promotion” section. Each of these articulations should be considered separately as they have unique symptoms, epidemiology, and management. There's already a detailed draft at Draft:List of Formula One Grand Prix wins by Max Verstappen. I understand that the creation of this article has been requested and denied multiple times in the past, but a lot has changed. A third consecutive championship is almost certain following a record-breaking 10-race win-streak, and he is rapidly approaching 50 wins. If agreed, I cannot do the split. SplitArena Football League into Arena Football League and Arena Football League (2024). The proposed 2024 relaunch of the Arena Football League has completely different leadership and management from the previous two incarnations of the AFL, with a different commissioner, hardly any original teams and personalities from the league on board, and completely different markets from what the original AFL would expand into (I doubt even in the original AFL's earliest days they would be willing to expand to Billings, Salina, Rapid City, Dodge City or Council Bluffs). As such, I believe the differences are distinct enough for the past league and the proposed future league to be separate articles, similar to how the various incarnations of the American Basketball Association and World Hockey Association are already treated. SplitRecognition of same-sex unions in Japan into Recognition of same-sex unions in Japan and Registered partnerships in Japan or Partnership oaths in Japan. Partnership oath registries are growing in number across Japanese municipal and prefectural governments since 2015 in lieu of the Japanese government recognizing same-sex couples. I've participated in updating the main article for years, but the section on partnership registries has grown increasingly complex with a growing list of governments and mutual recognition agreements, not to mention the list on LGBT rights in Japan of governments allowing for the naming of children and in-laws of partners as family members on several registries. In addition, quite a few also allow for common-law opposite-sex couples to join said registries. If agreed, I will do the split, but I understand if a split is not agreed to at this time. SplitRajasthani languages into Rajasthani languages and Rajasthani language or Standard Rajasthani. The article is about a group of languages with having sections like history, official status, writing system etc talking about a language called Rajasthani which is a standard veriety and recognised by the Government of the state and the academics and taught in schools and universities as a language subject, also there is a movement going on to make it the state language. There seems to be a lot of sources in Hindi language on the web. SplitPejorative into Prejorative and Slur. A pejorative and a slur are distinct concepts, though related. A pejorative is any term used to express contempt or disapproval, while a slur is a specific type of pejorative that targets social groups with discriminatory intent. Slurs often involve stereotyping, typically insulting individuals or groups based on factors like ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or cognitive ability. Although dictionaries like Oxford and Wiktionary recognize this distinction, it's important to acknowledge that the modern, collective understanding of these terms evolves, and not all resources like these may reflect current usage. It is imperative to furthermore consider, for example, how the term "slur" is commonly used to refer to specific terms such as the N-word, which is viewed not just as a simple "curse word" but as a discriminate with a history of racism -- a term that falls under the definition that I have presented. Other derogatory terms like the wikt:F-slur (note this euphemistic title, and how it differs from the "F-word") and the wikt:R-slur are akin to this due to their similar constitutions in society today. If agreed, I will do the split. — Urro[talk][edits] ⋮ 02:47, 18 February 2024 (UTC)

SplitKrupp into Krupp family and Friedrich Krupp AG. The current article, "Krupp", attempts to document the history of both the family and the business they created which is too broad and unwieldy a subject for a single article to handle. When faced with writing articles about business dynasties, editors have frequently made one devoted to the family business and one devoted to the family itself even when the family name is included in the company's title (i.e.:J.P. Morgan & Co. & the Morgan family; Lehman Brothers and the Lehman family; Barings Bank & the Baring family; Rothschild & Co & the Rothschild family; M. M. Warburg & Co. & the Warburg family; Mellon Financial & the Mellon family; etc.) With this approach in mind, I propose the article be split into (1) "Krupp family" which documents the family's genealogy while summarizing the lives of its individual members AND (2)"Friedrich Krupp AG" which provides history about the family business.Emiya1980 (talk) 22:58, 11 April 2024 (UTC)

SplitJapanese horror into Japanese horror and J-horror. (On this page it says one of the links should be red... here "J-horror" is just a redirect to "Japanese horror") This is quite a complicated issue. The article currently presents "J-horror" as merely a synonym for "Japanese horror", which I contend is definitely not true. I have never heard it used outside the discussion of film, and even within the discussion of film, I am of the opinion it more properly refers to a specific movement or subgenre within Japanese horror cinema. I'm not quite sure how the decision of how to interpret this works - you can certainly find "J-horror" used to just mean "Japanese horror films" (many lists and things will use it this way) but in my experience, in scholarly works and by the filmmakers themselves, it is generally used to specifically refer to a new style of Japanese horror film which grew out of TV and V-cinema (direct-to-video) productions in the early 1990s (see Tom Mes - Japanese Film and the Challenge of Video and Michael Crandol - Ghost in the Well). If agreed, I {cannot} do the split. I wouldn't mind doing some work on the J-horror page but I'm pretty inexperienced and don't think I could commit to doing it all. SplitPetz into Petz (PF.Magic) and Petz (Ubisoft). There is a gap of 3 years between the last of the PF.Magic Petz series games and the first of the Ubisoft Petz games. The former is a cohesive series with a distinct style, while the latter is more realistic on average, primarily consists of foreign localized games, and entries are rarely connected to each other, let alone the original series. As a result, this page is very messy and broad - while the Ubisoft article will be regardless due to the circumstances, I don't think it's fair to the much more cohesive group of games (Dogz and Catz, Oddballz, Petz 2-5, and Babyz). If agreed, I {will} do the split. ⋆˚꩜。 serilly! (he/him) (talk) 16:24, 31 August 2025 (UTC)
Split2023 Hpakant jade mine disaster into 2023 Hpakant jade mine disaster and Jade mining in Myanmar. Most of this article about a specific mining disaster is about jade mining in Myanmar more generally with, the article would benefit from being trimmed down to contain information only about the specific disaster with the more general topic of jade mining in Myanmar being a separate article. If agreed, I cannot do the split, the article could do with some copyediting and a more expert pair of eyes to assess any potential POV issues as it is being split. SplitKnucklebones into Knucklebones (game of skill) and knucklebones (game of chance). From the first line of the article, the game is already conflated with, "scatter jacks, snobs, astragaloi (singular: astragalus), tali, dibs, fivestones, jacks, jackstones, or jinks, among many other names." However, the reason why I'm proposing this split doesn't have to do with that, but rather the game itself diverged at some point in history and became two different games while maintaining the same name. The game of skill version is likely what most people think of it today where an object is thrown in the air and some action(s) need to be performed before it is caught. The specific action that needs to be performed varies depending on the cultural variant of the game. However, the game of chance version is equally notable as it is the origin of most, if not all, of today's dice games. If agreed, I cannot do the split, as I don't believe there's an issue with the article itself. It focuses on the game of skill as it's primary topic, while giving the game of chance a passing mention in the "Europe" section. If it were to be split, then more work would have to be done to make an entirely new article with enough sufficient sources. 2600:8800:97:E200:1031:EF09:EE66:A6E0 (talk) 19:42, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
SplitK Rock 95.5 into 3GL (radio station) and K Rock 95.5. The radio station 3GL originally aired from 1930 to 1990 on 1341 AM. It then became K-Rock 95.5 FM, changing name, band and frequency. However, in 2023, 3GL was relaunched on 1341 AM and now both 3GL and K-Rock exist as two separate stations. Therefore I think having one article for both of them no longer makes sense, as the historical narrative has changed. 3GL is not just a detail about a station's former name, but now actually a separate station that was formerly off air and has now returned. If agreed, I will do the split. Thisbe Schultz (talk) 17:20, 14 October 2025 (UTC)
SplitCarols by Candlelight into Carols by Candlelight (for the general tradition, and listing Carols by Candlelight events around the world); and Carols by Candlelight (Melbourne) (for the televised concert in Melbourne on Christmas Eve each year). I think the need for the split is obvious, but it might be contentious which one is the primary topic (details at the talk page). If agreed, I will eventually the split. See discussion at Talk:Carols by Candlelight#Proposed split. Adpete (talk) 04:14, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
SplitPokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow into Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Yellow. The games are totally different games. The pages were merged without appropriate clear consensus. Yellow has its own coverage and different mechanics different from Red and Blue. Red and Blue and Red and Green should not even be the same article, let alone Yellow. They are literally not even the same games. The games were hastily split inappropriately in the first place and shouldn’t have been merged. The games don’t even have the same graphics and plot line. This would be like merging Avatar 1 and Avatar 2 just because they are both Avatar. If agreed, I {cannot} do the split. See discussion at Talk: Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow#Proposed split of Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow into Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Yellow. Yeungkahchun (talk) 19:04, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
SPLIT Already took place, but has been (half-way) reverted: Emmanuel_Macron (edit|talk|history|protect|delete|links|watch|logs|views) into Presidency of Emmanuel Macron (until recently a redirect and a disambiguation page). Rationale: Article is almost 300K long; it takes forever to load. The natural break where the split ocuured—his presidency—cut the articles in half (still huge, but better than before). I conducted the split, but the split at the source article (Emmanuel Macron) was reverted. The split at The Presidency of Emmanuel Macron was not reverted. This resulted in a 150K wp:Content Fork that the person who reverted is fighting to maintain. Please weigh in on this issue. I will re-do the split if it is decided to proceed, but am walking away from the discussion for now as I have limited Wiki-time. Let me know if you need me. SplitOscar Ichazo into Oscar Ichazo and Arica School. Arica School is a redirect to the Oscar Ichazo article; the Arica School section takes up most of that article, with multiple subheadings and sub-subheadings, so it seems like it should be its own article. I already attempted to split it myself, but I struggled with the short footnote templates enough that the article probably wouldn't have been sufficiently sourced due to the links not working. If agreed, I cannot do the split, for that reason. Suntooooth, it/he (talk/contribs) 16:08, 17 August 2023 (UTC)
SplitDISCUSS HERE) the proposal to split Nut (food)-related content back out of Nut (fruit). The article currently has lots of content relating to culinary nuts such as coconuts and peanuts, which are not true nuts. The articles were merged in 2021 due to both being in a poor state, but User:Cwmhiraeth and others have since made improvements. I can do it myself if agreed (or no other opinions received). (DISCUSS) SplitIron Lynx into Iron Lynx and Iron Dames. Whilst both commercial entrants operate under the same parent team (Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab), Iron Dames have more notability than the parent team and are significantly covered enough to warrant their own article. The Iron Dames link is currently a redirect to Iron Lynx. If agreed, I {cannot} do the split. MSportWiki (talk) 23:55, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
SplitCheetos#Flamin' Hot Cheetos into a separate page. The Flamin' Hot flavor is not used solely with Cheetos, but also with other Frito-Lay products, although Flamin' Hot Cheetos are the most well known. I also think the section is complete and well-sourced enough to at least become a stub. We can also expand the page pretty easily, for example, by adding a list of products which have Flamin' Hot flavors (if it doesn't fail WP:DIRECTORY, that is.) If agreed, I'll be able to do the split. Discussion ongoing... Moonlinerman790 (talk) 13:12, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
SplitProto-Indo-European verbs, the article is a bit long already and it will grow in size. There also seems to be some extraneous information that could easily be deleted or moved. Discussion ongoing... Graearms (talk) 19:04, 6 February 2026 (UTC)
Re-establishDualism (politics) (currently a redirect to Dual monarchy). Originally, the article Dualism (politics) dealt with a separation of powers rule common in the parliamentary systems of Scandinavia and the Benelux countries, where ministers can't serve as members of Parliament simultaneously. Revision 806733106 added a mention of the unrelated but identically-termed concept reflecting the division of Austria-Hungary into its Austrian and Hungarian halves, which was greatly expanded by 984129936. It was on the basis of these additions that the page was turned into a redirect into Dual Monarchy by revision 1327858320, even though this was not the original subject of the article and there are still links that apply to the "ministers cannot be MPs simultaneously" sense of the term (such as Cabinet of the Netherlands, Fusion of powers, Backbencher). Glide08 (talk) 15:59, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
The original substance of the "Dualism (politics)" article seems to have been focused on the Dutch-specific variety of "dualism", with no meaningful references for six years by the point of the first mentioned revision. If anything, the substance of the parliamentary separation of powers concept is already covered at Dual mandate in terms not dissimilar from what you've described. Thus, I would think it better to simply retarget "Dualism (politics)" to "Dual mandate" and add any Dutch or Scandinavian-specific sources and information to the latter article if not already present there. This works as a better alternative than simply recreating a bare unreferenced stub article. I'd also then recommend removing the circular link to "dualism (politics)" at the dual mandate article if this proposal is acted upon. Red Shogun412 (talk • contribs) 16:11, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
I changed the redirect target to Dual mandate, and will work on removing the circular link soon. Glide08 (talk) 22:42, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
SplitSpeculoos into Speculoos and Speculaas. Discussion ongoing... Speculaas and Speculoos have diverged into two distinct culinary products. Speculaas is a spiced biscuit (German: Spekulatius) linked to the Dutch spice trade. Speculoos is a caramelized variant (German: Karamellgebäck) that arose in Belgium. The name 'speculoos' is a regional phonetic derivative of 'speculaas' that now identifies a different recipe without the traditional spice mix Jhowie_Nitnek (talk) 19:37, 1 March 2026 (UTC)
