ABC (lyhenne sanoista American Broadcasting Company) on vuonna 1943 perustettu yhdysvaltalainen radio- ja televisioyhtiö.

Yhtiön pääkonttori sijaitsee New Yorkissa. ABC näkyy Yhdysvaltojen lisäksi Kanadassa, Meksikossa ja joissakin Keski-Amerikan maissa.

Historia

Yhtiö perustettiin vuonna 1943 Yhdysvaltain telehallintoviraston määrättyä Radio Corporation of American myymään niin sanotun NBC Blue Networkin. Vuonna 1948 radion rinnalle tuli televisiotoiminta. Vuonna 1953 taloudellisissa vaikeuksissa ollut ABC fuusioitui Leonard H. Goldensonin johtaman United Paramount Theatersin kanssa. Nykyisin yhtiön omistaa The Walt Disney Company. ABC myi radiotoimintansa 2006 Citadel Broadcasting Corporationsille.

Tunnettuja sarjoja

ABC:n suosituimpia televisiosarjoja ovat olleet muun muuassa Batman, Onnen päivät, Kupla, Dynastia, Twin Peaks, Lost, Alias, Greyn anatomia, Scandal, Täydelliset naiset, Olipa kerran ja Ruma Betty.lähde?
