James Bernard Murphy (s. New York) on yhdysvaltalainen hallintotieteen professori. Hän opettaa Dartmouth Collegessa poliittista filosofiaa, poliittista teologiaa ja etiikkaa.
Murphy suoritti kaupunkisuunnittelun maisterintutkinnon MIT:ssä ja työskenteli kaupunkisuunnittelijana New Yorkissa. Hän siirtyi akateemiselle uralle ja väitteli tohtoriksi Yalen yliopistossa. Murphyn akateemisiin teoksiin kuuluvat The Moral Economy of Labor (1993), Your Whole Life. Beyond Childhood and Adulthood (2020) ja Deification in Classical Greek Philosophy and the Bible (2024).
