Le Codex 049 (Gregory-Aland), α 2 (Soden), est un manuscrit sur parchemin en écriture grecque onciale.

Description

Le codex, qui se compose de 149 folios de 27,5 x 18,5 cm,, est conservé au monastère de la Grande Laure (A' 88) du Mont Athos,. Il contient 30 lignes d'écriture par page, sur une seule colonne.

Le texte du codex est de type byzantin, et Kurt Aland le classe en catégorie V. Les paléographes datent unanimement ce manuscrit du IXe siècle.

Ce codex contient des textes des Actes des Apôtres, des Épîtres catholiques et des Épîtres de Paul, mais avec de nombreuses lacunes. Il contient entre autres les épîtres suivantes : Romains; 1 Cor 1,1-5,8; 13,8-16,24; 2 Cor 1,1-11,23; Eph 4,20-6,20 [pas clair].
