A Rhynchobatus-fajok az Indiai- és a Csendes-óceánoktrópusi és szubtrópusi részein fordulnak elő; csak egy faj, a R. luebberti nevű található meg az Atlanti-óceán keleti felén. Méretük fajtól függően 81-300centiméter között változik.
