《Pure McCartney》는 2016년 6월 10일 출시된 폴 매카트니의 네 번째 컴필레이션 음반이다.

배경과 구성

음반은 2016년 3월 말 매카트니의 페이스북와 트위터 페이지에 아리송한 영상이 올려지면서 처음 공개되었다. 그는 "여기에는 커버 버전이 없어요. 어쩌면 "퓨어" 콘셉트라고 할 수 있죠"라고 했다.

폴 매카트니는 이번 앨범에 대해 "듣고 즐길 수 있는 곡들을 모아 수록하기로 멤버들과 결정했다"며 "오랜 자동차 여행이나 친구들과의 저녁 홈 파티에서 즐길 수 있는 곡들이다. 나의 활동 중에서 여러 시기에 걸친 다양한 곡으로 구성하기로 의견을 모았다"고 밝혔다. 이어 "''커리어'라는 말은 내게 직업이라기보다 음악여정이라는 의미에 가깝다. 한 곡 한 곡이 특별하기 때문에 많은 곡들을 쓰고 녹음하는 일이 나를 행복하게 만들기도, 놀랍게도 만든다"고 덧붙였다.

음반에는 《Flowers in the Dirt》, 《CHOBA B CCCP》, 《Run Devil Run》, 《Driving Rain》를 제외한 그의 정규 음반의 수록곡이 있다. ABC 뉴스의 파블로 고론디는 "그래도, 《Pure McCartney》는 팝의 거인의 길고 구불구불한 경력의 탄탄하고, 정직하며, 흐뭇한 소개다. 메뉴의 시음은 더 원한다는 식욕을 돋군다."고 썼다.

곡 목록

음반은 세 버전이 출시되었다. 두 개 CD 구성에 39개 트랙, 네 개 CD 구성에 41개 트랙, 네 개 CD 구성에 (그리고 디럭스 디지털 에디션) 67개 트랙이 담긴다. 모든 곡은 특별한 기재 사항이 없는 한 폴 매카트니 작곡이다.
