Gymnoascus is een geslacht van schimmels, dat behoort tot de ascomyceten. De schimmels van dit geslacht komen wijdverspreid voor op het Noordelijk halfrond. Tot het geslacht behoren 26 soorten.
Het ascocarp is een gymnothecium.
