Gem County på Commons

Gem County er et fylke i den amerikanske delstaten Idaho. Det ligger i den sørvestlige delen av staten og det grenser mot Adams County i nord, Valley County i nordøst, Boise County i øst, Ada County i sør, Canyon County i sørvest, Payette County i vest og mot Washington County i nordvest.

Gem Countys totale areal er 1 465,29 km² hvorav 8,21 km² er vann. Ved folketellingen i 2010 hadde fylket 16 719 innbyggere og administrasjonssenteret ligger i byen Emmett som også er fylkets største by.

Historie

Fylket ble grunnlagt 15. mars 1915 og har fått sitt navn etter statens kallenavn "Gem State".
