Orizzonti (em tradução literal, “Horizontes”) é uma seção da seleção oficial do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Veneza, dedicada à exploração de novas tendências estéticas e narrativas do cinema contemporâneo, desde 2004. Inspirada na mostra paralela Un Certain Regard, do Festival de Cannes, apresenta uma competição que reúne tanto cineastas emergentes, geralmente com seus primeiros ou segundos longas-metragens, quanto realizadores já estabelecidos.

História

Entre os cineastas que já fizeram parte da seção estão: Luca Guadagnino, Josh Safdie e Ben Safdie, Hong Sang-soo, Karim Aïnouz, Frederick Wiseman, Catherine Breillat, Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Quentin Dupieux, Lav Diaz, Wang Bing, Robin Campillo, Jia Zhangke, Gianfranco Rosi, Franco Maresco, Brady Corbet, Pietro Marcello, Kaouther Ben Hania, Saeed Roustayi, Rodrigo Sorogoyen, Oliver Hermanus, Andrea Pallaoro, Gia Coppola, Ti West, Haifaa al-Mansour e Paul Morrissey.

A seção geralmente contempla prêmios de Melhor Filme, Melhor Direção, Melhor Roteiro, Prêmios do Júri e prêmios de atuação. Há também o prêmio de Melhor Curta-Metragem, concedido na competição paralela de curtas-metragens Orizzonti Short Films.

Até 2025, a seção Orizzonti contava com a mostra paralela Orizzonti Extra, que concedia um Prêmio do Público. A partir da 82ª edição do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Veneza, a seção passou a se chamar Venice Spotlight.
