Battleground (2014) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming show made by WWE. It took place on July 20, 2014 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. It was the second Battleground event held by WWE and the first to stream also live on the WWE Network.

Background

Battleground featured professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that played out on WWE's television programs, Raw and SmackDown. The wrestlers portrayed good guys, bad guys or tweeners (morally-ambiguous characters) as they followed a series of events, which leads to a wrestling match or a series of wrestling matches.
