David Anthony Burke (born March 28, 2005), known as d4vd, is an American singer, songwriter, and charged murderer. He is best known for his songs "Romantic Homicide" and "Here With Me", which experienced international success. In 2026, Burke was charged with the murder and rape of Celeste Rivas, a fourteen-year old girl he was allegedly in a relationship with.

Biography

Early life

David Anthony Burke was born in Queens, New York City. He would later move to Houston, Texas.

Career

Burke's career in music started when he made videos of the video game Fortnite and decided to make his own music.

In July 2022, he released the single "Romantic Homicide". "Romantic Homicide" charted at Number. 3 on the Hot Alternative Songs charts.

Burke's second hit single "Here with Me" was released in September 2022, and a music video was released in November 2022. "Here with Me" charted at Number 4 on the Hot Alternative Songs charts and Number 7 on Singaporean charts.

"Romantic Homicide" is RIAA certified Gold, ARIA certified platinum, and MC certified platinum, and "Here with Me" is ARIA certified gold and MC certified platinum.

Impounded car death investigation

On September 8, 2025, a dead body was found in an abandoned Tesla car registered to Burke in Los Angeles. The body was inside a plastic bag in the trunk. It was cut into many pieces and very decomposed. Police report the body was in the car for a long time. The car was abandoned in Hollywood Hills and taken to an impound lot; the car had been parked there for at least a month. TMZ says the car was not reported stolen. On September 16, the local medical examiner publicly identified the body as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, a girl who went missing on April 5, 2024, when she was 13 years old. TMZ says that Burke had the same tattoo on his finger as Rivas, and that her mother said Rivas had a boyfriend named David.

Burke performed in Minneapolis on September 8 for his Withered tour; his spokesperson said he was fully cooperating with police. The next day, Crocs and Hollister Co. removed promotional content featuring Burke. After the identification of the body, TMZ reported that Burke's concert in Seattle (scheduled for September 17) was canceled.

On April 16, 2026, Burke was arrested for suspicion of the murder of Rivas.

On April 20, Burke was charged with first-degree murder, lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14, and mutilation of a body. Prosecutors said that they will consider seeking the death penalty. Burke pled not guilty and is being held at L.A. County Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles.
