Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four are a team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. They first appeared in the 1961 comic The Fantastic Four #1 and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

The members of the group are scientist Reed Richards, his wife Susan Storm, her teenage brother Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm, a childhood friend of Reed's. While test flying a rocket ship, they are struck by cosmic rays, and gain superpowers. Reed becomes "Mr. Fantastic" who can now stretch his limbs and body for long distances and into large sizes. Susan became the "Invisible Girl/Woman" who could now make herself invisible and create force fields. Johnny transformed into the "Human Torch", who can now become a fire-covered figure. Ben turned into a rock-like creature with super-strength called "The Thing".

Members

• Doctor Reed Richards, a brilliant scientist who is considered the smartest man in the world. After the team's fateful trip to space, Reed gained powers of elasticity, being able to stretch his body into great distances and increase them in size if needed. He became known as the superhero Mister Fantastic.
• Susan "Sue" Storm, Reed's partner and older sister of Johnny. She gained powers of invisibility, being able to turn herself and other things invisible, as well as the power to create force fields. She became the superhero Invisible Woman.
• Johnny Storm, Sue's little brother. He gained the power to become a figure covered in fire. He can shoot it from his body and fly as well. He became known as the second Human Torch, with the first actually being an android created in the 1940s.
• Ben Grimm, a longtime friend of Reed's. After the trip to space, Ben turned into a large creature covered in hard orange rock. He gained super-strength, super-durability, and an extended lifespan, as he does not age in his new form. Thanks to a special formula, he is able to turn back into a human for one week every year, allowing him to age normally, but only for one week per year. He became known as the Thing.
